For this video I decided to do something that i'm more comfortable with. I've been playing with satire in my other classes and felt as if it would be a nice change to not do something serious.

For this project I did a News Cast discussing the Budweiser virus (A play on corona-virus) and made it a little less serious as it has been in the media lately, but still making sure that it's serious enough that it can be understood as a huge problem that's effecting our civilization. The "sound" for mine was utilizing speech and listening instead of just noises. I didn't go too goofy as to not completely make fun of Corona-virus, as it is something serious going on, but just enough to the point where comedy and seriousness meet.

Satire on the current media (Nature as the topic) Culture of fear

*Fade into me turning to face the camera after camera pans inward*

Good afternoon Western University, I’m Seth Anderson and if you are just tuning in, we’d like to bring urgent notice from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of Canada announcing the first presumptive case of nature's ability to preserve life, and now destroy it. now one of the leading cases of worldwide shock, the river Thames is seeing an astronomical level of Budweiservirus. The volume of the virus in Thames has skyrocketed from 1.3% to 3.6% since late last week. Local students in the field of sciences are shocked to see the 2% change in just 2 weeks after the initial anchorage and the forecast is that it’ll only go up as the acidic dihydrogen monoxide from the snow seeps into the river. Local health officials have indefinitely suspended talk of the virus, but the Western health authorities have announced today that they believe there are some cases of the virus spreading to locals, and that this is a case of community transmission but thankfully, Authorities are thoroughly investigating contacts of infected individuals to stop the virus from spreading. At ASIF news station we have charts, graphs, and statistics to show that this is an epidemic, and we want to share the facts about this virus. Here is the predicted trajectory of the levels of BWV in Thames, which shows that it will only be going up. Be sure to wear surgical masks if you are sick and if your immune systems are not up to par with the 2020 Health regulatory system to stay inside. Now let’s go out to Seth for the weather, and how the air that we breathe is being regularly affected by the virus.

*Now outside, standing in front of Thames or something*

Thank you Seth, and hello Western.

(chart will only show up to 10%, and will only go up so high in a couple of weeks, but graph will look scary.)
